These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Smitten Co., trading as Smitten Technologies, for the TruSight apps, smitten.co.in, related APIs, result-sharing features, and support (the “Service”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service
TruSight is an AI-assisted informational verification tool. It includes claim checks, Message Trust, video and footage analysis, voice and audio analysis, product checks, document and ID checks, optional registry checks, and optional legal-record lookup. Different axes answer different questions and are not combined into one universal score.
2. Adults only and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use TruSight. You must provide accurate account information, protect your credentials, and notify info@smitten.co.in of unauthorised access. We may suspend access for abuse, legal compliance, or security risk.
3. Licence to use
We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use TruSight for personal, lawful verification of material you have a legitimate reason to examine. This licence does not permit resale, automated bulk access, scraping, circumvention, or use as a regulated screening or decision-making service.
4. Content you submit
You retain ownership of your content. You grant us a limited licence to receive, process, transmit, temporarily store, and display it only to run the requested check, provide a share link you create, operate the de-identified Truth Vault, respond to feedback or support, and secure the Service as described in the Privacy Policy.
You represent that you have the rights and lawful basis needed to submit the content. Do not submit another person’s private communication, ID, health information, or sensitive document merely because you can access it.
The optional Health Profile stays on your device and is described in the Privacy Policy. If you create a profile for a family member, you represent that you have the right to do so, including as the parent or guardian of a child, and that the entries are accurate to your knowledge.
5. Results are informational
AI, OCR, search, registries, media scanners, and source material can be wrong, unavailable, or incomplete. Scores and bands are not proof. Read the cited sources and use independent judgment. See the Disclaimer.
TruSight is not legal, medical, financial, immigration, KYC, tenant-screening, employment-screening, credit, insurance, or other professional or regulated advice. Health Profile guidance does not diagnose or treat any condition and does not replace a qualified professional.
A legal-record result may show the name of another party to the same proceeding, applicable law sections, or a business category, as published by the source. That is not confirmation of that party’s identity or involvement.
6. Acceptable use
You must follow the Acceptable Use policy. We may remove content, revoke share links, or suspend or terminate access for violations.
7. Third-party services and stores
The Service relies on model, search, OCR, transcription, media-analysis, registry, hosting, authentication, notification, and other providers. Availability and coverage can change. Google Play and the App Store apply their own terms. The Android package name is com.trusightai.app.
8. Share links
If you create a result-share link, anyone with that link can open the shared result without signing in. You are responsible for the people and channels with whom you share it. New links expire after 7 days and may be revoked earlier by you or us.
9. Fees
The current version is free to download with no in-app purchases and no ads. We may introduce paid plans later, but will provide notice and update these Terms before charges apply.
10. Sherlock and permissions
Optional microphone, camera, and screen-capture features are user-started and require the relevant operating-system permission. Android may offer an optional floating overlay; iPhone uses sharing, Shortcuts, or the Action Button instead. We do not continuously monitor your device. You are responsible for recording, capturing, and analysing content lawfully.
11. Feedback
You may send result or app feedback. You allow us to use that feedback to investigate the issue and improve TruSight. This does not transfer ownership of your underlying submitted content. Feedback is handled and retained as described in the Privacy Policy.
12. Intellectual property
TruSight, Sherlock as used in this product, Smitten names and marks, software, design, and original content remain ours or our licensors’. Third-party sources and marks remain their owners’ property.
13. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted availability. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Smitten is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or loss of data, reputation, profit, or business arising from use of the Service.
Our aggregate liability for a claim shall not exceed the greater of INR 8,000 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, except where liability cannot lawfully be limited.
15. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you will indemnify Smitten against third-party claims arising from content you had no right to submit or share, unlawful use of the Service, or a material violation of these Terms or another person’s rights.
16. Account deletion
You may request deletion through in-app Settings or the Data deletion page. Deletion does not affect obligations or lawful processing completed before deletion and may not immediately remove device-local history, your cloud backups, independent provider records, or de-identified Truth Vault entries.
17. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Delhi have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer or local law gives you a right to bring a claim elsewhere.
18. Changes
The current Terms are at https://smitten.co.in/terms. We will post a revised date and give reasonable advance notice of material changes where required. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
